In October 2016, Select Contracts was engaged to assist in the first stage of a conceptual design and business planning phase to help develop an adventure park concept on the edge of the city of Adelaide to include a downhill bike park, cable wake park, accommodation units, ziplines, mountain coaster, cliff jumping, climbing and retail/F&B . The document created outlined ways in which the existing land could be used to create a world-class adventure park. The recommendations are based on market penetration data for residents of Adelaide, domestic and international visitors and mountain bike enthusiasts and past experience of Select Contracts in adventure park development.
Stocklands Retail Activation
Market Research & Conceptual Design
Stockland Property Groups have extensive experience in the development of new communities and retail/commercial centres across Australia with over $17.9 billion in real estate assets. Select Contracts was consulted to provide retail activation concepts for the Stockland Aura project, which includes a community of new homes with a central hub called Peoples Place. The hub will feature public amenities including a large swimming lagoon, children’s play spaces and leisure and events zones. Adjacent to the Peoples Place will be the Aura City Centre, a retail and commercial zone meant to service the needs of the community and eventually feature several notable retailers. The Aura City Centre will be developed in stages as leasing demand dictates. The purpose of the Retail Activation Market Study and Conceptual Design Project is to identify options for the connection of Peoples Place with the City Centre to stimulate demand and interest in leasing. The project should ideally serve to meet the needs of the community’s residents, while also providing a feature for domestic visitors to the area to prompt interest and visits to the Aura City Centre.
Northshore Action Sports Park
Conceptual Design & Business Planning
Attraction concept design for an indoor action sports park, bringing exciting and contemporary uses to an existing space and revitalising exterior space to make full use of the property. Enhancements of the original building were suggested but the idea was to harness the existing rustic feel and bring in modern attraction components, comfortable hang-outs and delicious F&B to create a really cool space where people want to spend time with friends and family.

Conceptual Design & Business Planning
In 2018, Select Contracts was consulted to develop a conceptual design and business plan for an Adventure Park in South Australia. Features of the master plan include a mountain bike park & skills area, zipline, chairlift, mountain coaster, RV sites and tent camping, lodge and dorm accommodation, splash park, playground, ticketing, retail & rental, lift top-station cafe, hiking and walking trails.
