Aura Recreation Hub

Project Details: 

The project includes a community of new homes with a central recreation hub. The hub will feature public amenities including a large swimming lagoon, children’s play spaces and leisure and events zones. Adjacent to the recreation hub will be a retail and commercial zone to service the needs of the community and eventually feature several notable retailers.

The Brief: 

The purpose of this Retail Activation Market Study and Conceptual Design Project was to identify options for the connection of the recreation hub with the City Centre to stimulate demand and interest in leasing. The key motivations for the project were to meet the needs of the community’s residents, while also providing a feature for domestic visitors to the area to prompt interest and visits to the City Centre.

 

Our Approach:

To begin this process we researched all available resident and visitor data in order to identify the market size and opportunities present. We also analyzed the location of the project as it relates to the suitability of various attractions and activities development. We then identified key competitors in the primary and secondary competitive zones as they relate to the ability to draw customers from the Sunshine Coast and parts of Brisbane. 

 

The Result:

This process allowed us to consider possible attractions and activities and create a conceptual design that fit the market opportunity. We determined appropriate spatial allocations and placement for the recommended concept design in the City Centre area, while also considering links to the surrounding zones where future development will take place.
