The Baseball Republic is a 500-acre mixed-use leisure and entertainment destination which celebrates Dominican culture and showcases the country’s love of baseball.

 

How Did We Help: 

Select Contracts brought their extensive experience developing theme parks around the world to develop a tourism destination with a strong sense of place.

 

The Brief:

Select Contracts was engaged in 2007 to develop a unique destination that the government could develop in conjunction with the private sector to; 

  1. a) provide a destination for all tourists in the country to visit 
  2. b) to provide a learning experience on the Dominican culture and heritage and 
  3. c) to promote the significant importance of baseball to the country.

 

Our Approach:

We provided the conceptual design and business planning for the development.

 

The Result:

The final master plan included a hotel, theme park, water park, family entertainment centre, golf course, baseball stadium, baseball hall of fame, and baseball training grounds. The project incorporated local themes for each element and had a strong focus on baseball heritage.
