Project Details:
District 99 is a 30,000sqft indoor bike park and training centre being developed in Squamish, British Columbia. It provides an all-weather venue for mountain biking, BMX and skateboarding. The park will offer a place for riders from Vancouver and the Sea To Sky Corridor to ride and train on some of the most progressive features in the world.Â
How Did We Help:
Select Contracts’ comprehensive knowledge of the Sea to Sky region’s existing market and specialized knowledge of the leisure and recreation industry has been invaluable in this project’s development.
The Brief:
Select Contracts identified the need for an all-weather attraction that would cater to the large mountain bike and action sports demographic present within the region.
Our Approach:
Through rigorous market research and competitive analysis, we were able to identify key case studies of successful facilities that would cater well to the Sea to Sky market. This allowed us to develop the conceptual design and full architectural design package for an indoor bike park and training centre.
The Result:
When completed, District 99 will have dirt jumps, ramps with an airbag to practice jumping, an enduro course with rocks, wood and jumps to learn on, a pump track, a skills area, a kid’s pump track and a place for parents to hang out whilst their kids have fun.
