Gilroy Adventure Park

Project Details:

Gilroy Gardens is an existing theme park located on 536-acres of land owned by the City of Gilroy. Our plan will add a sightseeing chairlift, surf park and adventure park on the adjacent lands. 

 

How Did We Help:

Select Contracts’ bike park operational experience and experience in producing Master Plans for dedicated lift-accessed bike parks provided valuable knowledge around the ideal terrain required and the necessary infrastructure required for a successful attraction. 

 

The Brief:

In 2016 Select Contracts was engaged to complete the Concept Design and Business Planning for an Adventure Park located at Gilroy Gardens.

 

Our Approach:

We began this project by analyzing the site selection based on accessibility, suitable liftline placement and appropriate gradients for beginner bike trails. The surf park and wakeboard park were sighted appropriately in the base areas. We then made suggestions for suitable operational aspects and produced a master plan for the attraction. Based on the suggested attraction we produced high-level financial summaries.

 

The Result:

The adventure park will feature downhill mountain bike trails for all levels of rider and bike programs for everyone from beginners to advanced riders, accommodation, surf park, wakeboard park, free explorative play areas for young children, a low ropes course for challenging balance and coordination and a multi-line zipline tour from the top station to the valley below.
