Melbourne Adventure Park

Project Details: 

The Melbourne Adventure Park will increase rider, hiker and sightseeing accessibility to the area with a high-speed gondola or chairlift to accompany world-class mountain bike and hiking trails. This lift will provide easy access to one of the region’s most scenic areas by transporting mountain bikes and riders, hikers and sightseers to some of the best views and trails in the region. 

 

How Did We Help: 

Select Contracts’ bike park operational experience and experience in producing Master Plans for dedicated lift-accessed bike parks provided valuable knowledge around the ideal terrain required and the necessary infrastructure required for a successful attraction. 

 

The Brief: 

Select Contracts were engaged to produce a master plan and financial business plan that includes a selection of components provided by the client.

 

Our Approach:

For any bike park project, our primary consideration is to determine the ideal location for lift infrastructure and correct gradients for the trail networks based on topographic information. In this project, we also considered suitable locations for a zipline and mountain coaster. We then considered key functional adjacencies in the base area to effectively layout the additional supporting attractions and operational buildings. 

 

The Result:

The resulting Masterplan provided carefully considered positioning for all mountain biking and uplift infrastructure as well as a highly efficient and functional base area that complimented the on-mountain attractions.
