Project Details:

At a towering height of 200m, or about the same height as a 60-storey building, this will be Australasia’s highest swing and it will also be the world’s first suspended platform to offer both a swing and Bungy experience.

 

How Did We Help:

Select Contract’s extensive experience consulting in the New Zealand leisure, recreation and adventure sectors allowed us to provide valuable insight into the existing market.

 

The Brief:

Select Contracts was initially engaged to complete the preliminary concept design and business planning in 2017 for a bungy and swing experience in the Central Otago region of New Zealand. We have since completed the detailed design of the supporting building infrastructure and consulted on the design of the suspended platform. Our financial model and feasibility study supported the initial investment raise and ongoing strategic planning for the land development. 

 

Our Approach:

Investigation into the competitive market of adventure activities and careful business planning allowed us to develop the experience from the base reception area to the suspended platform and the whole journey in between into a unique experience that will stand out from the competition.

 

The Result:

Phase-one of the Unlock Northburn Adventures will be a cable-suspended platform offering a truly unique, fully accessible and family-friendly canyon swing and bungy jump experience. Located above the John Bull Creek canyon on Northburn Station outside of Cromwell, New Zealand, it will be the first of its kind in the world.

 

Future phased expansions may include an airpark, mountain coaster and F&B.
