The Whistler Base Two development project is a year-round Adventure Park that will utilize Whistler Blackcomb land in and around the Base Two area.Â
How Did We Help:
Select Contracts utilized knowledge gained from working on the Whistler Indoor Adventure Centre and experience producing four-season development plans to provide location-appropriate and financially feasible recommendations for this proposal.
The Brief:
Select Contracts was engaged to develop a Preliminary Planning Proposal that was intended to be used to gain internal capital approval for the development of a year-round Adventure Park to be located on the lands in the Base 2 area of the Whistler Blackcomb Resort.
Our Approach:
We produced a conceptual overview of the project, including preliminary market analysis, site plan and high-level financial estimates. We used this overview when meeting with WB stakeholders to align all parties on the scope and objectives of the project.
The Result:
The attraction recommendations that resulted from this process were aimed at drawing families to the Base Two area during the summer months by introducing new attractions that are appealing to a broad age range such as an aerial ropes course and mountain coaster. We also recommended utilizing existing winter attractions like the tube park to extend its operations into the summer months.
